| But apparently can't spell. ;oP |
Early on in September, I set myself the goal of having the first draft of this WIP done by the end of the month. Not wanting to show off, I pulled myself a Lightning McQueen from Cars (the first one) and finished just at the end (give or take 7 minutes...).
That's right. Last night I typed the last words to it. I'll be honest here, it did not end the way I expected. Without revealing too much, I was set on ending it a specific way, but when it came down to it...something just felt...wrong. I took something out and changed it altogether. I suppose it's good that it didn't rely on anything that had come before. Come to think of it, maybe that's why it changed when I actually got to typing it out.
Okay...I'm going to stop there. I don't want to ruin anything accidentally, and I don't want to over-think that I did something wrong. That's for CPs to tear apart. And honestly, I can't wait for them to rip it a new one.
One more thing: Why is it that Google Docs put my word count at 74,917 and Microsoft Word put the word count at 75,476?
Let's have a great week and a great month, people.

Congratulations on finishing last night! And no idea on the difference in word count.
Congrats on finishing! That's got to be an awesome feeling!
Have a good week!
Well done, sir. That's inspiring. Why would the word counts be different? Does one count contractions as two words?
Props on getting it finished, Joshua! A huge step!
And I think it's just proof Google is devouring our word one MB, or 500 words, at a time. :-D
AW YEAH mr. joshua!!! YAY!
Maybe hyphenated words count as two?
Congratulations! It's quite a feat, finishing anything that long. And Google Docs must not count something. Chapter headings? Who knows?
Congratulations Josh! Nothing like meeting a goal. :)
woo hoo congrats on finishing the project, Joshie!
Wahoo! Can't wait to read it :) Cool license plate!
Oh yes, the word count thing. Word counts all of your symbols that have a space around them (like if you write a number or you put a space around a dash) but Google docs doesn't count those things so your word count will always be less :)
Hey Joshua! First draft done? Sweet! Now then, guess what's next?... Indigo
Hmmm I'm glad that J.A. Bennett answered that! I've always wondered the same thing! Thanks! :)
I am so freaking excited for you... you are a total bad ass!
YAAAHOOOO!!! That is amazing and exciting and I can't even believe it.
You are my new hero!!
Cngratulations! Give yourself some celebration time :)

I bow to your awesomeness on this feat, Schwa! Way to go!
Hooray! Congratulations...I know it's gonna be good!

Maybe Google is using the new math. :)
It's sooooo interesting how our gut instinct comes into play when it feels "wrong." It's crazy. But we know. But seriously, I'm SO STOKED for you. What a HUGE accomplishment! Enjoy it, embrace it. Big moment. :D
