Sad to say, such is not the case. Just busy weekends full of things to do and clean and do and clean. Illness strikes the house again, and I'm desperately trying to avoid more than a cursory bout with whatever this bug is that snagged The Wife.
I had hoped for more writing this weekend, but managed to squeak out just about 300 words. Brain failing. It is too tired to sentence a coherent write.
Work stresses have me whipped and beaten. I'm not the type to thing about work when I'm not at work. The last few days...let's just say that thinking about work when I'm at home is annoying. Plus, there really is nothing I can do about 90% of things unless I am at my desk, which helps with the separation of work and life. I'm hoping this week passes without incident, because I'm really ready to bring a cricket bat to work and sit there eating Cornetto. Just waiting. Hopefully I won't have any red on me.
{waits}{crickets}
Moving on. I'm trying to figure out a way to get ahead of the game with posts. I mean, I know how to schedule them, but I don't know what to schedule. Maybe some day I'll figure that one out for more than one or two posts at a time. Then again, maybe not.
I rode the stationary bike every morning last week and went between 4.5 and 5 miles each time. Felt good about it. Even went to a lunchtime class that my work offers with some co-workers. It was a little tough, but nothing I couldn't handle. And then I woke up at 2am Saturday morning wondering what the hell was wrong with my ass cheeks and legs. They didn't hurt at the time, but damn if they haven't been sore muscles all weekend. One co-worker texted me today wondering if I was going to the class tomorrow. Part of me says, "Yeah. It's good for you. Keep going." Another part says, "What, are you out of your fucking mind?" As of writing this, I haven't packed up workout clothes. I'll see in the morning if I feel up for it.
More than you needed to know, I'm sure.
Anyway, I hope you all had great weekends, or at least had a few good drinks to calm your nerves.

Poor baby!!!
I get the same when I workout - it skips a day entirely before the aches and the hurting starts. It's really odd. Nice Shaun of the Dead reference too :)

Hang in there. Life has been overwhelming me, too. We'll get through it. That's the great thing about Lee's A-Z challenge each year, we know what to write for an entire month. :)
Pack the gym clothes! You can do it. Sorry illness has struck again. Grateful my wife and I are almost never sick.
I never workout :) I have my poor heart as an excuse....
Yeah, it always hurts worse 2 days after heavy exercise. Give it another try, it will get better :-)
We start Insanity today... I am going to be dead by Saturday. You should try getting a rehydration drink for after your workouts... it would help a ton with the aches and pains.
I didn't write shit this weekend.. I understand. I think I'm going to have to just not sleep tonight so my brain doesn't explode.
Yay for caffeine.
Hey, I won a giveaway today AND I had a nice day planting bulbs in my garden yesterday AND the trash truck is outside right now taking away my trash. (Which means I didn't forget to bring it to the curb.)
Small successes all around. Feeling grateful. Hope your illness bug is smooshed asap. Drink OJ.
I'm praying and crossing everything that you don't get sick too. Hope your week goes well and your lower half feels better. (That's what she said!)
These days, my muscles don't start to hurt from a grueling workout until the next day. And then the day after THAT? I'm done. I think it's a getting old thing...
I hope you get some much needed rest soon!
All of lives are full, all of us fall behind sometimes. The important part is not quitting. I think you're doing awesome. Just go with what your gut tells you!
I totally know how you feel about the exhaustion issue.

Sadly, I can do 100% percent of my job from home.
I have found what helps is to vary your exercise. bike one day, walk the next etc.
Harder to do than say, but it gives the different muscles rest between workouts and there will be less fatigue.
And less biker butt. :)
Stress makes you tired (and sick people), but pack the clothes. You won't be sorry if you do decide to work out.
P.S. Shallee McArthur is hosting a Healthy Writer's Club every Friday. You should check it out:)
sore muscles keep from working out for a day or two. I have to lick my wounds before I pick it up again.
