!!!BREAKING NEWS!!!
HALLELUJAH! GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO! Blogger has finally returned the "Subscribe to comments" checkbox for pop-up and new window comments! What this means for you is that I will be returning to commenting back via the pop-up window here on the blog. Some responses I will still email out if necessary, but the checkbox is the way to know that—not if because I always comment back; and not just because I'm a last word freak—I've responded. Plus, and no offense, it saves me so much time. Thank you for your involvement. We now return you to your regularly scheduled challenge.
!!!BREAKING NEWS!!!
Now to Challenge Day 4.
D is for Doctor Hoos.
Such an awful pun in the name of this shirt. Perhaps my favorite of the shirts that I own. And by far the most comfortable to sleep in. I literally sleep in this every night, so no, I did not wear it to work today. This is what you get instead.
Not the greatest picture, so I'll work on that for tomorrow. Mmm-kay?
My normal thing on Wednesdays is to do a piece of writing. I'm going to bypass something of my own this week because, quite frankly, I did 70 minutes of cardio yesterday and I'm wiped out. Instead, I've acquired three books that I am chomping at the bit to start reading. The Marbury Lens by Andrew Smith : Matthew over at the QQQE turned me on to this book. I can't wait to start it. The Sword of Senack by EC Stilson : You should also go read Elisa's blog. (She's the author.) Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood : Nothing much else to say about it. A friend got me excited, and I still am.
I tried to keep this as short as possible during the A-to-Z Challenge, so I hope you enjoy the new reads I will be enjoying. I'll let you know what I think of them...
...if I ever get the time to actually read a book again.
*License: I took all of these pictures.

Time to read books? What on earth is that?
Alex - Exactly. With the exception of what The Girl and I have read together, the only books I read lately are those I'm getting paid to edit.
those are some cute books! Love the covers!
DEZ - I know, right? The contrasting blue and orange in the first, the excellent cartoon quality of the second, and the creepy eyes on the third. Can't wait!
Thanks for the new book suggestions. I'm having to squeeze my reading time in at nap time while I wait for the kidlets to stop rebelling and finally go to sleep. Which reminds me, I need to find a Kindle bbok light, so I can keep fighting the good fight when they go to bed at night...off to Amazon!
Awesome shirt.. I hope my package makes the list.
Paige - Anytime. I'll have another suggestion tomorrow. And more to come.
Vodka - If I remember, it will be with the L's.
Woo hoo about the subscribe option!! I must have missed so many replies...
I WANT this shirt. How did I never see this before? I'm squinting at Hartnell - I think it's a good likeness!
Wait where's the - oh I see. Email comments...
Deniz #1 - You can still buy it here at Threadless.
Deniz #2 - Glad you found it. ;o)
70 minutes of cardio?!?! You must be fekking shattered!
This my very well be my favorite t-shirt yet. I do love some Dr. Who, and Owls. What could be better?
Lass - Actually...not too bad. A few achy spots, but I'm ready to do another set today. Maybe not 70 minutes, but I have a lot of catching up to do after the last year.
yay for 70 minutes of cardio!!
...I'm sort of a writer myself, just haven't written in a long time. I have some inspirations in my head right now, just not sure where to start...guess that's the crappy part of being a writer? Where to begin?
Oh, ain't that last sentence the truth. I LOVE reading, but I haven't found time to read in at least 2-3 weeks. Those books all look awesome, though.
Libby - It is definitely one of my favorites. And so very comfortable!
Samantha - And I only required a 20 minute nap two hours later.
Shelley - Only 2-3 weeks? I read 1 book last year. 4 so far this year, but two are those I'm being paid to edit, so I'm not sure they count. I still will count them.
That shirt's a hoot.
Annika - BA DUM DUM DUM. That's a rim shot. Good one.
Great shirt and post! I'm just stopping by from the challenge. I haven't heard of any of these books but shall look out for them :)
Nikki – inspire nordic
Nikki - I was greatly intrigued by the first one, and I enjoy Elisa's stories so the second one should be pretty great. As for the third, I mean, it's Margaret Atwood.
Awesome concept! Will you actually have enough shirts for all 26 posts?
mindthegap - Plenty, and then some.
FREAKIN' HECKA YA!!! Blogger has finally redeemed itself!
And is that 6 AM or PM?
Cassie - I run on a 24-hour clock, so that is AM.
Oh man! I'm totally jealous of your Doctor Hoo shirt! It's so awesome on so many levels!
Also, YAY for comment following again! I have a friend who will be super excited to hear that
Sarah - It's such a wonderful thing. I still don't understand why they took it away in the first place.
I KNEW someone would be talking about Dr. Who for D, but I had no idea someone would post about Doctor Hoos! Again, amazing shirt. I don't know where you find these, but they're terrific.
Oryx and Crake is great. I actually got to meet Margaret Atwood in college and I'm still a really huge fan. She was one of the most interesting people I've ever talked to.
S.L. - Met her? So freaking cool. Jealous. As for the shirts, I get daily emails from four sites about shirts. Most are great, but only a few are MUST BUYS!
Marbury is going to freak you the frack out.
Matthew - Ummm...you have me scared a little.
Okay, Okay..that shirt is a real 'hoot'! (I'm here all night, people) Ha.
As for the comment pop-up/subscribe box. Yes! (Done in my best Napoleon Dynamite voice)
Happy reading.
Sweet tee, I don't know what they are but they're really cute! Glad the email thing is back, I might change to pop up, so annoying when the page refreshes, spesh if you have a dumbass computer :)
I've got about 5 books I need to read...one I'm supposed to do a review on for a random person who found me. I may need to wallow in self pity and Cadbury Eggs ;)
That breaking news is AWESOME!!!!
And so is that Doctor Hoos t-shirt!
Nadja - No, you are a hoot. So happy about the comment checkbox. I think I will be happy reading those.
Anna - They're owls. Doctor Who = Doctor Hoo = Hoo = Owls.
Princess - Pity is the best side dish to Cadbury Eggs.
Cora - I was SOOOOOO happy when I saw that little box this morning. And again two minutes later when I got an email from Scope about it. YAY!!! Happy Dance!!
Oh my god how slow am I! Haha :)
Anna - I see you've selected the "Email follow-up comments" option. :o)
Er no! I'm not sitting at my computer right now either! :P
Anna - You're kind of a goof, aren't you? I mean that in the nice way.
Oh. My. Goodness. I am suffering closet envy right now. That is such a brilliant shirt!
Emily - It's one of those things that has been in the works, building up slowly, for years. Love every single one.
I haven't read a novel by Atwood in years. Thanks for bringing her to mind.
Anne - I don't think I've ever read an Atwood novel before.
That is one of my favorite t-shirts!
Christine - Mine, too. Obviously, since I sleep in it every night.
OMG that shirt is a total hoot! (tee-hee) I'm sure somebody already threw this one at you, but I'm on break and haven't had a chance to read other comments. LOL!
Lovin' your shirts!
Jaycee - Surprisingly...only three of you have made that joke. Far less than I thought would do.
Yeah, I did meet her. She came to my university and sat down with a group of us English majors. It was insanely cool, made cooler by the fact that we had all just read The Handmaid's Tale in class.
My favorite nerd shirt site is ThinkGeek. You probably know of that one already, but if not you should check it out.
S.L. - I avoid ThinkGeek because they have so much stuff that I just WANT.
Yeah, a nerd could go bankrupt on that site.
S.L. - If it were up to me, every single one of my relations would receive a gift from ThinkGeek. Or Groupon.
I'm sorely missing reading. Lately, I only have a few minutes at night before I'm too sleepy to continue. I have a ton of books on my TBR list at Goodreads. I am a book hoarder, though. I like to savour the thought of them before I read....Does that make me a nerd? Or just plain weird?
Lady Gwen - I'm thinking I need to take a picture of my TBR pile at home. There are...a lot.
The Marbury Lens is a gritty book; though from what I remember when I read it last year, it is well-written.
Golden Eagle - I can handle gritty.
I am taking a break from books for the moth of April. I have far too many blogs to read. But in May, watch out!
:)
Juli - That is a great point. Hmm...
You are soooo awesome! Thanks for the mention ;)
I'm going to check out "The Marbury Lens" :0)
AND...the Google Reader has returned my beloved scrolling arrow to the bottom right of the page so I can scroll easier and not have to use keyboard keys to do it and make myself irritated. YAY! I'm sorry, you said other things but my delirium is just overwhelming right now with the arrow thing... Heh! :)
I just have to say that Oryx and Crake is amazing. Actually, anything by Margaret Atwood is amazing. :)
Found you via A-Z
Krissy
That shirt is awesome.
And thanks for reminding me to get my ass to the gym.
Joshua...where did you get the owl shirt? I have a huge thing for all things owl and would LOVE to find one like this! BTW...happy reading. :)
I like all these T-shirts you're putting up for the challenge-- awesome!
Look forward to your challenge run…

I. Must. Have. That. Shirt!
I have one that I purchased from the "Icanhascheezburger" website called Dr. Mew. I wear it with nerd pride!
-Barb the French Bean
Hello fellow A to Z- er.
I want one of those shirts.
And one for my Dad, too.
I don't even know where to start - there is so much awesomeness! I love the t tho. And kudos on the comments! That's always cool. Now I need to jot down these books so I can add them to my TBR list!
I have never seen that design before, I love the shirt! So adorable.
My favorite Doctors have always been Patrick Troughton, Tom Baker and Sylvester McCoy.
Love your blog - I blog about Doctor Who as well <3
Dif-tor heh smusma
- T'Laina (vibrant-oxymoron.blogspot.com)
That's adorable! Everyone loves owls (except voles and shrews ... and Simon Cowell)
Jamie Gibbs
Fellow A-Z Buddy
Mithril Wisdom
I love that shirt! lol I also love the Sword of Senack!
Just to let you know... My book that you helped edit just got approved for Barnes and Nobles! yeah! Thanks again for all your help!
Elisa - I've been told it's "gritty." Just saying.
Veg - Yay for things finally going in the right direction!!
krissyranae - That's what I hear. Sad to say this will be my first introduction to her work. I knew her name, just had never read anything.
Smedette - Yeah...get your ass to the gym.
Tracy - I emailed you that link, enjoy! I hope they get your size soon.
Damyanti - Thank you, thank you. I hope you're not going too crazy because of this Challenge.
vic - Yes, I've shown that shirt before, but it bears repeating. Valut Boy is the official logo of Vault-Tec, the leader in fallout shelters constructed under government contract to protect and sustain inhabitants in the event of a nuclear crisis. It's also from the Fallout video game series. YAY!
The Beans - I've posted the link further up in the comments. Just search for Threadless and you'll have it. Dr. Mew = Awesome.
Lily Cate - First rule of government spending: Why buy one when you can get two for twice the price? Threadless has them (or some). Enjoy!
Leigh - You should read them, just like I should, and will. Hope you're doing all right today. :o)
T'Laina - Dad's favorite is still Tom Baker. I wish Christopher Eccleston had stayed on longer than the one season. Love me some Doctor Who, as evidenced by two days in a row of DW shirts (E as well). Also, _\\// (Vulcan Salute returned) Peace and long life.
Jamie - Would you if you were Simon Cowell?
Craziness - Happy news on the Barnes & Noble front. That's fantastic.
